The problem

Duplicate posts hide in plain sight.

Repeated imports, publishing workflows, and human mistakes can leave multiple posts with the same title. Finding them manually is tedious, and deleting the wrong copy can discard the version you meant to keep.

What it does

Focused. Not bloated.

Six practical capabilities, organized around the one job this plugin is meant to do.

01

Category filters

Check one selected category or search across all categories.

02

Useful date ranges

Search the last 7, 30, 90, or 365 days, or inspect all published posts.

03

Clean title comparison

Find matching titles without being fooled by letter case or repeated whitespace.

04

Choose the keeper

Keep the newest copy, keep the oldest, or select the correct post manually in every group.

05

Complete preview

See each duplicate group, post ID, publication date, and edit link before cleanup begins.

06

Trash, not delete

Move confirmed duplicates to WordPress Trash so they remain recoverable.

How it works

A controlled path from evidence to action.

  1. 01

Select a category, time range, and keeper strategy.

  2. 02

Review every matching title group and proposed outcome without changing a post.

  3. 03

Keep the newest, keep the oldest, or manually identify the one post that should remain.

  4. 04

Recalculate the scope, validate the plan, and move only confirmed duplicates to Trash.

The boundary

Nothing changes until you review and confirm.

Post Deduper runs only when an authorized administrator opens the tool and starts a cleanup. It does not work on a schedule, permanently delete posts, send site data elsewhere, or add analytics and tracking.
