01 / The problem
The Cactus Cafe already had a strong word-of-mouth reputation for intimate acoustic performances. Its old site, however, shared little about the room, the artists, or upcoming shows—and missed a chance to turn interest into attendance.
02 / The solution
Working from a design by Ampersand Agency, Pixeldust Interactive built a WordPress site with event content, artist information, online ticketing links, and an editable news and show calendar.
Fans could see upcoming performances and learn about the musicians.
Show information connected visitors to ways to attend.
Staff could update event details and news without rebuilding pages.
03 / Business value
The work addressed a real challenge for Cactus Cafe at The University of Texas—improving the experience for customers, teams, or both.
Visitors could move from curiosity about a show toward buying tickets.
The website reflected more of what made the room special.
An editable calendar and content platform supported regular programming updates.
04 / Technology
Technologies and deliverables from the historical project are shown as originally documented, including earlier-generation platforms where applicable.
The takeaway
For a live venue, a website should help the next great show get discovered.
