The Texas State Teachers Association empowers public education. Their estimated 3.2 million members have worked continuously to protect public education employees, cultivate student knowledge and improve the future of public education in Texas. Over the years, the TSTA has been instrumental in a number of legislative measures such as child labor laws, mandatory schooling, civil rights, statewide teacher salaries, the Teacher Retirement system and more. But, at over 10 years old, the tsta.org site no longer reflected TSTA’s legislative stature or conveyed a strong interactive presence. And while educational reform was quickly becoming a hotbed issue in the legislature, the TSTA needed a tool to help them revitalize their look and dominate the educational stratosphere.
2+2=??
TSTA wanted their website to feature an updated design, increase user engagement and amplify calls to action to their constituents around the state. Pixeldust began designing an invigorating theme that would enliven the TSTA identity and disseminate important legislative information. The TSTA also wanted their website to convey a strong sense of state-wide community.
Tools For Leaders
Utilizing Drupal, tsta.org now houses a modern look with modern functionality. Through their new content management system, TSTA can now easily make site-wide content updates and manage information. On the home page, Pixeldust created a customizable video hero slider to showcase the most important issues at hand.
Making the Grade
The goal of the tsta.org redesign was to implement a new design, increase user engagement and amplify calls to action to the educational community. The Drupal based digital experience that Pixeldust created for the Texas State Teachers Association provides a stronger platform to lobby education reform and continue their mission of improving the future of the public education system in Texas.
