Johnson Controls is a global leader in automotive experience, building efficiency and power solutions. They provide innovative automotive interiors, products, and services that optimize energy use, and batteries for automobiles and hybrid-electric vehicles. They have 140,000 employees in more than 1,300 locations serving customers in 125 countries. That translates to a lot of people reading their annual Business and Sustainability Report. But the delivery of the report was not done in an eco-friendly way.
Save the Trees
With the aid of Really Really Big Industries, Inc., in Chicago, Pixeldust developed an application that would allow Johnson Controls to deliver a sustainable, paperless report online, stay true to their environmentally-friendly roots, and disseminate company information to employees and investors in a new way. And we only had six weeks to construct it.
You can be choosey
Built on the Drupal platform, the custom application moved the report online and electronically distributed it worldwide. The application was built in 12 different languages and allows users to choose specific report pieces of interest and generate a custom PDF.
Eco to Go
The goal of the 2008 Business and Sustainability Report was to create a paperless 2008 Business and Sustainability Report and dramatically cut back on the number of unwanted printed pages. To date, the 2008 Business and Sustainability Report has reduced the number of printed annual report pages by over 85,000.
