Pixeldust put a lot of digital mojo into gattisjingle.com. Utilizing a musician’s flyer feel, we designed and developed a clean microsite that would ultimately serve as a bridge for the 40th anniversary, remind Austinites that Gatti’s started in Austin, and generate excitement and interest among new and existing customers. And they wanted to conquer social media.
With over 140+ stores throughout Texas, the South and Midwest, it’s not a stretch to assume Gatti’s pizza is a strong contender in the pizza industry. The Gatti’s chain of restaurants reflects a fun family atmosphere that fills you up and entertains you at the same time. But Gatti’s long-time advertising jingle no longer captivated customers. And on the eve of their 40th anniversary, Gatti’s decided to hold a jingle competition with a $10,000 grand prize and let their fans speak for the company.
All the Toppings
Pixeldust built a Drupal based website that allows users and musicians to upload their own audio or video versions of the long-time Gatti’s jingle. We created a custom 3d animated intro piece for the home page to grab attention. Users can listen to the entries, make comments, rate, share and vote for their favorite entries. We implemented an administrative area that provides moderation tools for entries, voting, comments and registration. Entries can be shared across most social networking sites and mobile devices.
And the Winner is….
The goal of gattisjingle.com was to score a new jingle, celebrate Gatti’s 40th anniversary and generate interest in the pizza chain. Gatti’s ended up with a database of 12,000 registered users for their marketing efforts. With over 80,000 visits from 40,000 unique visitors, 2,100 Facebook fans and 400 entries, the winning jingle can be heard at the end of all Gatti’s pizza commercials.
