Well, hello there! My name is David Smith. Not a very wizardly name, but yes, I am the founding wizard of Gravity Wiz, indisputably the most magical shop for Gravity Forms add-ons in the world. I’ve spent the last decade of my life mastering Gravity Forms and sharing that mastery with the Gravity Forms community. I was Employee #1 at Rocketgenius — the makers of Gravity Forms. I learned so much working closely with each of the founders, and it really helped shape the company that Gravity Wiz is today.

What do you enjoy most about working in WordPress?

Its users! They’re ambitious and resourceful; eager to push the limits of what is possible. They research and combine individual solutions to solve complex problems that make an outsized impact on the world around us. WordPress is an amazing platform but it’s the people using WordPress that impress me the most.

What do you love most about your Post Status membership?

I’m a bit of a lurker in Slack, but I still enjoy the conversation and friendliness of the community. The newsletter has saved me so much time by removing the FOMO that kept me glued to Twitter and blog browsing.

What business/web/WordPress advice do you have for others in our industry?

Just do it.

I spent so many years doubting myself and the viability of my business. When other business owners would talk about their business, I would listen but never share. I spent years working at my 9 to 5 even after my side hustle was showing real promise.

Don’t let fear rule you. It’ll work out. Go for it.
