Advice on multisite as one website [closed]

I’ve looking for some best practice on developing a multisite which acts as one combined site.

I’ve been using MS to host separate site using domain name mapping for quite several years quite happily. But now need to develop a site which to a visitor behaves as a single website but allows editors to manage their own posts/pages and uploads.

Areas I’m mostly interested in are general best practice, shared menus and/or headers/footer, site search, SEO/analytics, recommended plugins, plus any "gotchas".

I know it’s a lot to ask, but I’ve done some research on the topic but surprisingly there’s little that I can find. Anyone knows of any guides then please just point me in that direction.

Any help would be most grateful.
