Tell us something about you that fans should know:
I would describe myself as an eclectic artist, with influences that range from rock, to electronica. I started releasing hip hop and rap because I wanted to perform, and I can do it solo with no band, just me and a microphone. I love all kinds of music though, I originally wanted to be in a rock band! I love to sing, a lot of rappers tell me they wish they could sing like me, because I can do melodic choruses and some things they may still be developing their skillset in. I think a lot of rappers just start rapping and don't consider singing melody until they start writing hooks and choruses and songs beyond just spitting bars.
I'm heavily influenced by Kid Cudi and Linkin Park, you can really hear it in some of my songs too. I like blending genres and showing people I do more than just rap.
I also have a side-hustle as a DJ, so I love any music that get people moving and having a good time. I like seeing people singing along to their favorite tunes while out with their friends. Its the sign of a great night.
Where are you from and what’s the music scene like there?
I was born in Ontario just outside of Toronto, but I grew up on the East Coast of Canada.
Right now I'm based out of Prince Edward Island, which has a lot of music in its scene, but the hip hop scene is just burgeoning and taking shape.
Its a growing thing and its really beautiful to see the artists bloom and develop into influential members of their community. Hosting and spearheading charity events and not-for-profit events, or just putting on all-ages shows so kids have something safe and fun to do. Its a great thing for everyone when music can bring a community together.
