# Website Migration and Redirect Service in College Station

Moving a website can lose useful pages, links, search traffic, forms, data, and customer bookmarks. We list what the old site has, choose what must move, send old links to the right new pages, and test the new site after launch.

## Choose what should move and what should not.

We list the pages, files, images, forms, links, and tracking that matter. Search and visitor data can show which old web addresses still bring value and need special care.

Not every old page needs a new copy. Keep and improve useful pages, join pages that repeat each other, remove old material, and send each old link to the closest new page.

## Build continuity into the new site before launch.

The new structure receives the appropriate titles, descriptions, headings, canonicals, structured data, internal links, analytics, forms, and sitemap coverage. We prepare the redirect map alongside the build instead of reconstructing it after old links begin failing.

Content and assets may move through exports, APIs, database transforms, or a controlled manual process depending on the platforms and quality of the source. Domain, DNS, email, hosting, certificates, forms, and third-party ownership are reviewed according to scope so moving a website does not accidentally volunteer the company email for an adventure.

## Verify the public move and monitor the transition.

At launch we check the production hostname, secure connection, representative pages, redirects, forms, analytics, robots directives, canonical URLs, and sitemap. A build passing locally does not prove the public migration works.

Afterward, crawl and Search Console evidence can reveal missed URLs, redirect chains, indexing changes, or content that needs attention. We document known exceptions so the business understands what changed and why.

## Migration and redirect work can include

- Existing URL, content, data, metadata, integration, and asset inventory

- Keep, improve, merge, retire, and redirect decisions

- CMS or platform migration, content transfer, and data validation

- One-to-one redirect map, DNS coordination, and internal-link updates

- Analytics, canonicals, schema, robots, and sitemap continuity

- Production launch verification and post-migration checks

Local perspective
The worst migration shortcut is sending every missing page to the homepage. It hides the broken URLs from a casual click while discarding relevance for customers and search engines alike.

Common questions

## Before you choose a direction.

Will migration preserve all of our rankings?

No one can guarantee unchanged rankings, but careful content decisions, relevant redirects, metadata continuity, internal links, and production verification reduce avoidable loss.

Can you migrate between different platforms?

Yes, when the source content and destination platform are accessible. We scope content, design, forms, integrations, assets, and URL behavior before beginning.

Should every old URL redirect to the homepage?

No. Retired URLs should point to the most relevant replacement when one exists. Unrelated homepage redirects can confuse visitors and provide little search value.
