Add external GeoJSON points on leaflet and geofield map

I am working with "location" content types which have another field of type "Geofield".
I created the map from the views module (format: Leaflet Map).
The points are displayed correctly.

In addition to the points on the map coming from my nodes, I need to add points coming from an external source via an API.

The API will return a GeoJSON file.

I am wondering what is the correct method to do this and if there are any examples on the net?
